Today we drove from Sault Ste. Marie to Thunder Bay. It was roughly an 8 hour drive. The best way to describe the drive is to compare it to that moment when Harry Potter saw Hogwarts for the first time. In other words, the drive left us awestruck. Sooooo beautiful. We felt our jaws drop a couple of times.
We woke up to a snow storm. We drove through it for about 3 hours. Thank goodness for winter tires. But, still. The view though…made it so worth it. Patrick and I agreed that we would rather drive through a snowstorm from Sault Ste. Marie to Thunder Bay than drive on any 400 highway on a nice day.
Other parts of the drive went from snowy, less-snowy, wet, and then just sun-blinding (literally).
The major challenge we faced today was: our walkie talkies gave out on us very early on. We drove about 4 hours without communicating. It made for a super grumpy Patrick and a frustrated Jennie.
We pit-stopped for lunch in White River, the home of Winnie the Pooh. I learnt that Winnie is based on a real life bear that was found in White River and brought to Winnipeg (Winnie!). Winnipeg is actually our next stop tomorrow!!!!!
The adventure continues…
